So what’s Shiloh/Shiloh Season all about?

Two superb family films based on the beloved books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor invite you to open your heart to a remarkable beagle named Shiloh…and to Marty (Blake Heron), the boy who rescues the young dog from mistreatment. The dog’s owner wants him back. Yet Marty is determined to find a way to make Shiloh his own. “An ideal movie for parents and children to see together, and talk about afterward,” Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times. The sequel Shiloh 2 Shiloh Season could spark even more discussions. In it, Shiloh’s heroism, kindness and forgiveness sets an example for Marty (Zachary Browne). Michael Moriarty and Rod Steiger are among the grown-up stars of these films that know well the special bond that can only come from a special canine friend.

Personally, I thought Michael Moriarty was incredible, but wasn’t too impressed with Scott Wilson.
